- I have noticed, for some time, that MultiTech modems (The 288 ZDX models) SEEM to have
- an incompatibility problem with some other modems. In particular, I have problems calling
- AOL.COM and UUNET's Alterdial. I find that I must call two or three times to get a connection.
- I have spoken to AOL.COM breifly but they could not solve the problem.
- Some time back, I selected MultTech as our main modem to connect some 125 field offices to
- our central computer. For the most part the MultTech connect to MultiTech with no problem.
- I have noticed that, over time, each MultTech modem model has had more problems than
- its predecesor. My latest problem is with some 30 28800 ZDX's that will not work properly with
- SCO Unix's atdialer program. The 19200 ZDX's worked just fine ... ... But that's another story.
-
- I will say, however, that, even though I find more bugs, the modes price have dropped and
- perhaps I would not have the problems that I do, if I would not be buying their cheapest modems.
